Troubleshooting: Recorder unexpectedly crashes in Mac OS X Mojave

When using the Tegrity Recorder to create a recording or take a test on a Mac running OS X Mojave, the Recorder may unexpectedly crash after a few minutes into the recording if the permissions for the peripherals are not set correctly.

The first time you start the Tegrity Recorder on a Mac running OS X Mojave, you should be prompted to allow the Tegrity Recorder to access the microphone.

You may also be prompted to allow the Tegrity Recorder to access the camera.

If you select “Don’t Allow” for these permission requests, the messages will not appear again, however, the Tegrity Recorder will not be able to access the computer’s microphone and camera thus causing the Recorder to crash after a few minutes into the recording.

To allow Tegrity Recorder to access the microphone and camera, please follow the steps below:
1. Open System Preferences

2. Open Security & Privacy

3. Select Microphone and check the Check Box to allow the Tegrity Recorder to access the microphone – you may need to click the lock icon on the bottom left to make changes

4. Select Camera and check the Check Box to allow the Tegrity Recorder to access the camera – you may need to click the lock icon on the bottom left to make changes

If the Tegrity Recorder still crashes unexpectedly after allowing it to access the microphone and camera, please contact support for additional assistance.
