Info: Firefox (Mozilla) browser settings for PC playback

The following Firefox (Mozilla) browser settings are needed for optimal playback experience.

In Mozilla, open Tools >Options

  • Click on the General icon
    • Click on Manage Add-on button (The Add-ons window will appear.) 
      • Click on Plugins
        • Make sure the following plugins are installed and enabled (if not, please install them):
          • Microsoft Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin
          • Tegrity Plugin
        • Close the Add-ons window
  • Click on the Content icon
    • Make sure that the following check boxes are selected:
      • Enable Javascript
    • If pop-up windows are blocked, make sure to add the URL of your institution’s Tegrity instance to the Exceptions list
  • Click on the Applications icon
    • Enter asf in the search field
    • Make sure that asf files are associated with the Microsoft Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin
  • Click the OK button

Also, make sure that you have the latest version of Microsoft Windows Media Player installed on your PC.

If you do not hae the Tegrity Plugin installed:

  • Open Tools > Options
  • Click on the Security icon
  • If “Warn me when sites try to install add-ons” is checked, click the Exceptions button. The Allowed Sites – Add-ons Installation window will appear.
  • Add the URL of your institution’s Tegrity instance to the allowed sites list.
  • Click the Close button.
  • Click the OK button.
  • Try playing back a Tegrity recording again. The plugin should be installed automatically.
