How to: Install the Moodle Block for Tegrity Campus (2.9+)

You will need:

  • Admin access to Tegrity
  • Admin access to your Moodle server (compatible with version 2.3+ or later)
  • Your Tegrity Customer Number
  • Your Tegrity Shared Secret
  • **For Moodlerooms customers: Please contact Moodlerooms and ask them to install the MH-AAIRS block on your instance, you might be required to provide them your Customer Number and Shared Secret.
  • **Moodle server must be running PHP version 5.2.x or later

Download and Install the Tegrity Moodle Block for MH AAIRS from the AAIRS Download page.

This block can be installed on Moodle 2.3 or later. The MR framework is built-in to the block so a separate download and installation is not required.

  • First, navigate to your Moodle installation folder and find the ‘blocks’ subfolder.
  • Extract the contents of Moodle Block for Tegrity AAIRS within the ‘blocks’ folder. A new folder ‘blocks/mhaairs’ will be created.
  • To activate and register the block, login to Moodle as an administrator and navigate to ‘admin/index.php’ path from the root of your Moodle installation.
  • Now you can navigate to the configuration page and setup the MH-AAIRS block.

MR Block Config

  • Enter you Tegrity Customer Number and Shared Secret.
  • For Available Services, check the McGraw-Hill Campus checkbox.
  • Select locking type should be set to the Default: No locking.
  • Keep all other settings to their default selections.
  • Click Save changes to save your settings.

 

Configure AAIRS to use Moodle for Authorization

  • Login to your Tegrity Admin Dashboard
  • Click Manage AAIRS
  • Under Authorization wait for the Edit option to appear and then click it to edit the Authorization Connectors.
  • Drag the Moodle connector from the Manual Configuration box to the Currently Used Connectors box.

 

  • Configure the Moodle Authorization Connector.
  • Do not change the Service URL — this is automatically configured.

  • Under Extended Properties, replace the following settings with your institution’s information:
  • Server = Your Moodle Server URL
  • Block_Name = mhaairs
  • Secret = Tegrity Shared Secret
  • Protocol = Moodle server protocol used
  • Save the Authorization settings then click Save & Continue

 

Configure AAIRS to use Moodle for Direct Login Authenication

  • Login to your Tegrity Admin Dashboard
  • Click Manage AAIRS
  • Under Direct Login Authentication wait for the Edit option to appear and then click it to edit the Authentication Connectors.

  • Drag the Moodle connector from the Manual Configuration box to the Currently Used Connectors box.

 

  • Configure the Moodle Authentication Connector.
  • Do not change the Service URL — this is automatically configured.

  • Under Extended Properties, replace the following settings with your institution’s information:
  • Server = Your Moodle Server URL
  • Block_Name = mhaairs
  • Secret = Tegrity Shared Secret
  • Protocol = Moodle server protocol used
  • Save the Authentication settings then click Save & Continue

 

Adding a Tegrity Courses link to a Moodle Course

A Tegrity Courses link needs to be added to a Moodle course. This action must be performed by an administrator or an instructor for the course.

To add the Tegrity Courses link to a course, navigate to a course page and add the block by clicking the Turn editing on button to enter edit mode.

 

Select the Edit option on the MH-AAIRS block:

 

Select the Tegrity option and click Save Changes . Even if Tegrity was already pre-selected, please click the Save Changes button to confirm the setting.

After saving the change, the Tegrity link should be visible in your Moodle Course.
