How to: Install the Moodle Block for Tegrity (2.0 to 2.2)
You will need:
- Admin access to Tegrity
- Admin access to Moodle server (compatible with version 2.0 to 2.2)
- Your Tegrity customer number
- Your Tegrity shared secret
**For Moodlerooms customers: Please contact Moodlerooms and ask them to install the MH-AAIRS moodleblock on your instance.
Download and Install the Tegrity Moodle Block for MH AAIRS:
1. First, navigate to your Moodle installation folder and find the ‘blocks’ subfolder.
2. Extract the contents of Moodle Block for Tegrity AAIRS within the ‘blocks’ folder. A new folder ‘blocks/mhaairs’ will be created.
3. To activate and register the block, login to Moodle as an administrator and navigate to ‘admin/index.php’ path from the root of your Moodle installation.
4. Now you can navigate to the configuration page and setup the reference to MH-AAIRS.
5. Set the “Service Adress” field to “https://aairs-connectors.tegrity.com/sso/aairs/”, “shared secret” and “Customer Number” to values provided to you by Tegrity and click ‘Save changes’ to save the config.
Configure AAIRS to use Moodle for Authorization and/or Authentication
- Login to your Tegrity Admin Dashboard
- Navigate to the AAIRS interface (click ‘Manage AAIRS’ from the admin dashboard)
Use Moodle for Authorization (Courses / Enrollments)
- Edit the Authorization section and add a ‘Custom’ connector
- Configure the Moodle Connection
Extended Properties:
- Replace the values with the correct information
- Server = Your Moodle Server URL
- Block_Name = mhaairs
- Secret = Tegrity Shared Secret
- Protocol = Moodle server protocol
- Save the Authorization settings then ‘Save & Continue’
Use Moodle for Authentication
- Edit the Authentication section and add a ‘Custom’ connector
- Drag the Moodle connector from the right set to the left set of connectors to configure.
- Configure the Authentication Connector
Extended Properties:
- Replace the values with the correct information
- Server = Your Moodle Server URL
- Block_Name = mhaairs
- Secret = Tegrity Shared Secret
- Protocol = Moodle server protocol
- Save the Authorization settings then ‘Save & Continue’
6. Now Tegrity can be enabled in any ‘Moodle course’. This is a required action – the Block cannot enable itself, it has to be done by an administrator or an instructor. To enable the Block in a course, navigate to a course page and add the block using ‘edit mode ‘(click the ‘Turn editing on’ button):
7. Next Select the ‘Edit’ option on the MH-AAIRS block:
8. Select the ‘Tegrity option’ and click ‘Save Changes’ . Even if ‘Tegrity’ is pre-selected be sure to click the ‘Save Changes’ option.
After saving the change, the Tegrity link should be visible in your Moodle Course.
