How to: Configure Faronics Deep Freeze for Tegrity Recorder

Faronics Deep Freeze: Configuring for use with Tegrity Recorder.

Important Requirements

a)      The workstation must have a dedicated disk drive (logical or physical), which is used as a Tegrity persistent storage for keeping class recordings and Tegrity Data. This disk can be created using Faronics Workstation Installer from available free space on the existing drive (explained later).

b)      Deep Freeze must be used together with the Faronics Data Igloo mapping tool.

Steps to setup a recording workstation with Tegrity using Faronics Deepfreeze Enterprise

  1. You create a workstation configuration with a free disk drive, which will keep all the Tegrity recordings. We recommend that you allocate a minimum 50GB of free space to this drive. In this example, let’s assume that this drive will be named as “T:”.
  2. You create an exception rule for “Frozen Drives” with Deepfreeze. The frozen drives are specified on the “Configuration” – “Drives” tab of the Deepfreeze Enterprise Configuration Administrator.
  3. When you finish configuring the workstation, you create the “Workstation Install Program”. It is under the “File” menu.
  4. Now you can deploy Deepfreeze to the workstation.
    1. Boot machine were you want to install Tegrity Recorder in Thawed state.
    2. Install Tegrity Recorder.
    3. Run Services.msc and stop TegSrv service or run “net stop TegSrv” from cmd.
    4. Open Task Manager in the Processes tab select TegrityTray.exe process right-click on it and select End Process or run “taskkill /f /im TegrityTray.exe” from cmd.
    5. Using Faronics Data Igloo tool create Folder Redirection of the Tegrity data folder:

I. First time installation of the Tegrity recorder (Recorder ver. 7.5.2.2301 or above)

Make sure that both Copy NTFS permissions and Copy Share permissions checkboxes are checked.

Windows 7 and above:
