Troubleshooting: ‘Cannot Start Recording’ message / WebCam shows a black screen
Some laptop manufactures preinstall WebCam software called CyberLink YouCam (CyberLink WebCam Splitter). This software has been identified to cause issues with the Tegrity Recorder. Possible symptoms:
- When launching a recording, a message is displayed stating Cannot Start Recording.
- The instructor camera shows a black screen even though the camera was active during recording.
We recommend uninstalling the CyberLink WebCam Splitter software to resolve any incompatibility issues with Tegrity. You may also disable the device in Device Manager.
