How to: Create and Manage Courses Using the “Manage Ad-hoc Courses / Enrollments (Course Builder)”

There are multiple ways to create and manage courses on the Tegrity Instance. Listed below are instructions on how to create courses, assign memberships and delete courses through the use of the “Manage Ad-hoc Courses / Enrollments (Course Builder)” option available on the Tegrity Admin Dashboard.

Creating Courses

1. In the “Courses” section on the Tegrity Admin Dashboard, select the “Manage Ad-hoc Courses / Enrollments (Course Builder)” option.

2. To create a new course, select the “New Course” option, located on the upper, left-hand corner of the page.

3. In the “Create new course” dialog window, enter the “Course ID” and the “Course Name”.  Click “OK” to create the course.

A confirmation dialog window will appear on the screen indicating the course has been successfully created.  The new course will now appear in the list on the “Course Builder” page.  Click “OK” to close the window.

Assigning Memberships: Enrolling Users in Ad-hoc Courses

1. To assign memberships (enroll users) into “Ad-hoc Courses”, click the “Membership” option, located to the far right of the course name you would like to add users to. You may use the ‘Filter’ to search for the course.

2. In the dialog window, a list of users created using the “Manage Ad-hoc Users (User Builder)” will be displayed in the “All Users” section.  Select the name of the user you would like to enroll into the course, and click the arrows pointing to the right of the “Instructors” or “Students” section to enroll the user(s) as instructors or students in the course.  Click “OK” to apply the changes.

A confirmation dialog window will appear on the screen indicating the user(s) has been successfully enrolled into the course.  Click “OK” to close the window.

Editing Courses

1. To edit courses, click the “Edit” option, located to the far right of the name of the course you would like to modify.

2. In the “Edit Course” dialog window, you have the ability to modify the “Course Name” field.  The “Course ID” field cannot be modified once the course has been created.  Click “OK” to apply the changes.

A confirmation dialog window will appear on the screen indicating the course information has been successfully changed.  Click “OK” to close the window.

Deleting Courses

1. To delete courses, click the “Delete” option, located to the far right of the name of the course you would like to remove. You may use the ‘Filter’ to search for the course.

2. A confirmation dialog window will appear on the screen to allow you to confirm the deletion of the course.  Click “OK” to remove the course from the system.
